How to Make Coins in FC 27

FC 27 pays more per match than last season and lets you sell far more of what you earn. Here is where FC 27 coins come from, which SBCs give back more than they take, and which habits quietly drain a balance.

There is no secret trick to coin making in Ultimate Team. EA's rules page lists the approved sources: playing matches, rewards from modes such as Rivals and Squad Battles, quick selling tradeable items, and selling items at a fair price on the Transfer Market. A second EA article adds SBC rewards. The players who earn fastest use all of them every week and give back as little as possible to the sale tax.

What changed for earning in FC 27

If you played FC 26, the coin math is different now. EA's launch Pitch Notes point the same way on every count: more coins, and more rewards you are allowed to sell.

The effect showed up fast: in its first developer update after launch, EA reported coin balances more than 50% higher than at the same point a year earlier.

How much Rivals, Champions and Squad Battles pay

EA has not published an exact per-match figure for FC 27, but what it has published is enough to rank the modes. The table sets the FC 27 changes next to last season's weekly coin rewards, which EA listed for FC 26 Season 1.

Coin rewards in the three main modes, from EA
ModeFC 27, according to EAFC 26 Season 1 weekly coins
Division RivalsSeveral times the FC 26 match coins, Bounties, every pack reward tradeable at launch1,500 to 25,000
ChampionsSeveral times the FC 26 match coins, 15-match Finals with bigger coin rewards, Champions Tokens2,000 to 85,000
Squad BattlesMore match coins than FC 26 (no figure given), weekly rank rewards, Champions points3,000 to 20,000

Division Rivals: the main engine

Rivals is where most of the new coin money sits. EA's example of Division 1 upgraded weekly rewards is 95,000 coins, four 84+ Gold Players Packs, five 83+ Gold Players Packs, a 1 of 5 83+ Gold Players pick, a Giant Gold Pack and a TOTW Player Pack. Every pack reward in the mode was tradeable at launch, so climbing a division usually beats squeezing in extra matches at your current level.

Open those packs with a plan. Check what similar players go for before you claim, so you know which pulls to list, which to keep and which to save as SBC fodder.

Champions: the biggest single payout

The 15-match Champions Finals returned with larger coin rewards than in FC 26, and Champions Tokens buy red TOTW items in a Token Store. You qualify with Champions Qualification Points from Rivals or Squad Battles. If you qualify, play the matches: the Finals payout is one of the largest single coin rewards in the game.

Squad Battles: coins without the stress

Squad Battles is still in FC 27. You play AI squads, collect Battle Points and finish the week in a rank that sets your rewards. Wins now count toward Champions qualification, so players who dislike online matches can reach the Finals without queuing for one.

Live Events, Rush, Moments and Drafts

Single-player Live Events pay through Objectives, so you can finish them at your own pace. Rush, Moments and Drafts are back too, with no coin figures from EA, so treat them as bonus earnings.

Objectives: rewards you can plan around

Objectives pay a known reward for a known task, which makes them the most predictable income in the game. Every new club starts with the Foundations chain, in this order:

  1. The Journey Begins
  2. First Team Dreams
  3. Rising Through the Ranks
  4. Market Madness
  5. Chasing Greatness
  6. Total Football

Rewards include Player Items, packs and coins. The first three groups also open trading for new accounts, as our guide to opening the Transfer Market explains. After Foundations, check Objectives whenever a new promo starts. Season 1 is a good example: its Ones to Watch items are earned through Objectives, SBCs and the Season Pass.

SBCs that pay and SBCs that drain coins

A Squad Building Challenge swaps a group of players for a reward. EA counts SBC rewards among the legitimate ways to earn, but the math runs both ways. An SBC pays when its reward is worth more than the cards you hand in would fetch. It drains your balance when you purchase most of the squad at full value for a reward you then cannot sell.

Streamlined SBCs and Challenge SBCs

FC 27 has two kinds. Streamlined SBCs work on a score: each player's OVR, rarity and Holographic status add to it, duplicates are accepted, and you can submit part of a squad and finish later. Since September 28 you can also complete them in the Companion App. Challenge SBCs keep the classic puzzle format with fixed requirements.

The Streamlined format is the friendlier home for spare cards, because a duplicate worth little on the market can still add to a score. Challenge SBCs are where the last missing pieces get expensive, so cost those out before you start.

Submitting is final

EA's beginner guide is clear: once a Player Item goes into an SBC, it leaves your club for good. Before you submit, look up every tradeable card in the squad. If any card would fetch more coins than the reward gives you, swap it out.

Untradeables are your cheapest fodder

Untradeable items cannot be listed, so their only uses are your squad, challenges, the FUT Gallery and Evolutions. Every untradeable card that goes into a challenge is one tradeable card you keep. Build each SBC around untradeables first and fill the gaps with your lowest-value tradeables.

Which SBC rewards are worth it

Stock fodder before demanding SBCs

Community trading guides describe SBC fodder timing: pick up high-rated players while they are cheap, then sell when a demanding new challenge pushes demand up. New content tends to arrive with each promo, and for most of the season promos start on Fridays at 1pm Eastern, which is 10am Pacific. If you plan to do an SBC yourself, having the fodder ready before launch keeps you out of that rush.

The bronze pack method in FC 27

Older guides told you to open cheap bronze packs, sell the useful pulls and quick sell the rest. FC 27 changed the ground under that method. Common and Rare no longer exist for Bronze, Silver and Gold items, and store packs are named by size instead, so step-by-step versions written for earlier games no longer match what you see. Current community guides call it less reliable than before.

To test it, open a handful of packs and note what each cost. Add up the quick sell values and what your listings return after the 5% tax, and keep going only if that beats the cost over several tries.

Quick Sell, and how to undo a mistake

Quick Sell turns any tradeable item into coins instantly. It suits cards nobody wants and items you cannot place in a challenge. Before you tap it on anything decent, compare the quick-sell figure with recent sales.

Picked the wrong player? Quick Sell Recovery can bring it back. It works in the Web App and Companion App, up to seven days after the sale, five times in any 31-day period. It covers Player Items from the current game, not loans, and you need the same number of coins in your balance.

Trading by hand

Trading means buying an item below what it will resell for, then listing it for more. EA allows it as long as you do it yourself and at fair values. The catch is the tax.

The 5% tax sets your margin

EA takes 5% of the final sale from the seller. Buying, listing and expired listings are not taxed. Pay 9,000 coins for a card, sell it for 10,000, and you receive 9,500, so the profit is 500 rather than 1,000. To break even on that card you need a sale of about 9,474. Small flips can vanish entirely, which is why our EA tax calculator is worth a few seconds before every listing.

Ranges and separate markets

Every item has a minimum and maximum value EA allows on the market, and EA does not publish those limits, so ignore tables that claim exact numbers. Console players have shared one market since FIFA 23, and FC 27 trackers still show PC trading on its own.

Methods from community guides

These come from community coin guides published after launch. EA does not endorse or confirm any of them, and results swing with the market, so test each with small amounts.

When buying is simpler

Making coins yourself is slower, but it is the approved route and keeps your club on the right side of EA's rules. With FC 27's higher match rewards, a few evenings of matches plus your Objectives add up week by week.

Buying is faster, and some players do it before a promo they care about. It breaks EA's User Agreement, the risk is real even for small amounts, and EA's penalties range from removing coins to deleting a club, sometimes on a first offense. If you weigh that and go ahead, you can buy FC 27 coins through our partner checkout after checking today's FC 27 coins price for your platform. Our partner delivers by Comfort Trade within 2 hours. Either way, the habits on this page decide how far your FC 27 coins go once they are in your club.

Questions about earning coins

What is the best way to make coins in FC 27?

For most players it is a weekly routine: play Rivals or Squad Battles until you earn your Champions spot, finish every Objective, complete the SBCs you can fill with untradeables, and sell the tradeable packs and players you do not need. EA raised per-match payouts this year, so steady play now earns more than it did in FC 26. Add careful trading once your market is open.

How can I get coins fast in FC 27?

The quickest approved coins come from the Division Rivals weekly rewards and the Champions Finals, because both pay large lump sums and Rivals packs were tradeable at launch. Listing what those packs hold adds more. Trading on top of that can speed things up, but only when your margins clear the 5% tax. Never hand the work to a bot or auto-buyer, since EA bans automation outright.

Are SBCs worth it for making coins?

Some are. An SBC pays when its reward is worth more than the cards you hand in, which is easiest when you build the squad from untradeables and duplicates. It drains coins when you have to purchase most of the squad at full value for an untradeable reward. Submitting is final, so check what each tradeable card would fetch before you confirm.

Is trading on the Transfer Market allowed in FC 27?

Yes. EA lists selling items for a fair price on the Transfer Market as a legitimate way to earn. What it forbids is automation: bots, scripts and auto-buyers that search or bid for you. Using the market to pass coins to another account, or to receive coins someone else paid for, can also cost you your access to trading.
